Role Overview

The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor leads pharmacy technicians and students within UHN Pharmacy Services.

The role is based at Toronto Rehab / UHN RCC in the Pharmacy department and reports to the Manager, Pharmacy.

The position is permanent full-time, with 37.5 hours per week on day shifts.

The wage range is $35.28 to $44.10 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and students, including scheduling, training, and performance oversight.
  • Coordinate and monitor daily drug distribution activities to support safe, efficient, and effective pharmacy services.
  • Implement workflow improvements and support pharmacy technology and automation upgrades.
  • Lead medication safety initiatives and maintain required documentation and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital, Ontario College of Pharmacists, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership to resolve operational issues and maintain high-quality pharmacy services.
  • Act as system administrator for pharmacy technology and automation.
  • Participate in projects and assigned cross-functional tasks.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited college Pharmacy Technician Program or recognized equivalent is required.
  • Part A registration as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists is required.
  • Three years of practical hospital pharmacy experience is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Candidates should be self-motivated, forward-thinking, and committed to collaborative, high-performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous hospital experience with a unit-dose system and intravenous admixture service is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory, management, or leadership experience is an asset.
  • Experience with relevant pharmacy systems and software is an asset.
