Position Details
Registered Nurse position in the Center for Mental Health inpatient mental health unit at Toronto General Hospital.
The position reports to the Nurse Manager and supports intensive care, general, eating disorder, and geriatric inpatient psychiatric units.
Compensation
- Wage range is $41.15 to $58.98 per hour.
- The start rate is non-negotiable and follows collective agreement requirements.
Schedule
- The position offers up to 22.5 hours per week.
- Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
- The employment status is permanent part-time.
Responsibilities
- Practice psychiatric nursing according to Canadian Standards for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
- Develop therapeutic alliances and collaborate on treatment plans with clients and team members.
- Manage patients who may exhibit disorganized, disinhibited, or aggressive behavior.
- Perform mental status assessments and provide peer consultation.
- Administer psychotropic medications and monitor side effects.
- Conduct pre- and post-assessments for ECT procedures and support discharge planning.
