Position overview
Temporary part-time Registered Nurse position in Complex Continuing Care at West Park Healthcare Centre.
The role provides professional nursing care, treatment, education, and support for patients and families, including people affected by dementia.
Employment and compensation
- The position is temporary part-time for approximately 18 months.
- The schedule is 15 hours per week with day and night shifts.
- The wage range is $41.15 to $58.98 per hour, with the start rate determined by the collective agreement.
Duties
- Plan, manage, evaluate, and coordinate comprehensive nursing care for patients and families.
- Plan and implement care for patients with dementia and their families using clinical knowledge and team input.
- Educate patients, families, referring facilities, and community providers about dementia care.
- Participate in inter-professional planning forums, rounds, and family conferences.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor students and new staff in geriatric rehabilitation nursing.
- Participate in professional, program, hospital-wide, and development initiatives.
- Follow patient safety responsibilities, hospital plans, policies, and procedures.
