About the Role
Ebury seeks a Regional Sanctions Manager for its Dubai office to oversee sanctions compliance in the UAE and MENA region. - Ensure strict adherence to UAE Federal Decree Laws regarding AML/CFT and Targeted Financial Sanctions (TFS), including managing the immediate 'freezing without delay' requirements for the UAE Local Terrorist List and UN Consolidated List.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of the UAE and MENA customer base and report significant risks to Group Head of Sanctions.
- Provide expert oversight on regional risks, including high exposure jurisdictions.
- Manage end to end filing of Fund Freeze Reports (FFR) and Partial Name Match Reports (PNMR) to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) via goAML.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the region, advising on the applicability of extraterritorial sanctions (OFAC, EU, UK) versus local UAE requirements.
- Work with the Group Sanctions team to ensure MENA specific nuances are reflected in global screening logic.
- Provide real time briefings to the Global Head of Sanctions on shifting regional dynamics and their impact on group appetite.
Requirements
- 5+ years in a senior sanctions role.
- Deep familiarity with the CBUAE AML/CFT Rulebook for Anti Money Laundering.
- Knowledge of US, UK, EU sanctions authorities.
- Experience with the goAML reporting portal.
- Strong understanding of local risk factors in the MENA region.
- Proven ability to navigate the geopolitical complexities of the MENA region.

Regional Sanction Manager UAE
- The Regional Sanctions Manager (UAE & MENA) is responsible for overseeing Ebury’s sanctions compliance framework within the Middle East, with a primary focus on the UAE.
- This role ensures that regional operations are fully aligned with the Central Bank of the UAE and where applicable other relevant regulatory authorities.

- Sanctions Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of the UAE and MENA customer base. Report to Group Head of Sanctions any significant risks identified with customer population
- MENA Risk Management: Provide expert oversight on regional risks, including high exposure jurisdictions.
- Regulatory Reporting (goAML): Manage the end to end filing of Fund Freeze Reports (FFR) and Partial Name Match Reports (PNMR) to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), ensuring 100% accuracy and meeting strict statutory deadlines where applicable.
- Advisory & Governance: Serve as the subject matter expert for the region, advising on the applicability of extraterritorial sanctions (OFAC, EU, UK) versus local UAE requirements.
- Strategic Alignment: Work with the Group Sanctions team to ensure that MENA specific nuances—such as complex UBO structures in Free Zones and regional payment corridors—are accurately reflected in global screening logic.
