Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to UAE Federal Decree Laws regarding AML/CFT and Targeted Financial Sanctions
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of UAE and MENA customer base
- Manage end to end filing of Fund Freeze Reports and Partial Name Match Reports to UAE FIU via goAML
- Serve as subject matter expert on extraterritorial sanctions vs local UAE requirements
- Work with Group Sanctions team to reflect MENA specific nuances in global screening logic
- Provide real time briefings to Global Head of Sanctions on shifting regional dynamics
Requirements
- 5+ years in a senior sanctions role
- Deep familiarity with the CBUAE AML/CFT Rulebook
- Experience with goAML reporting portal
- Proven ability to navigate geopolitical complexities of MENA region

- The Regional Sanctions Manager (UAE & MENA) oversees Ebury’s sanctions compliance framework within the Middle East, with primary focus on the UAE.
- Ensures regional operations are fully aligned with the Central Bank of the UAE and other relevant regulatory authorities.
What You’ll Do
- Local Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to UAE Federal Decree Laws regarding AML/CFT and Targeted Financial Sanctions (TFS).
- Sanctions Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of the UAE and MENA customer base.
- MENA Risk Management: Provide expert oversight on regional risks, including high exposure jurisdictions.
- Regulatory Reporting (goAML): Manage end to end filing of Fund Freeze Reports (FFR) and Partial Name Match Reports (PNMR) to UAE FIU.
- Advisory & Governance: Serve as subject matter expert for the region on extraterritorial sanctions versus local UAE requirements.
- Strategic Alignment: Work with Group Sanctions team to reflect MENA specific nuances in global screening logic.
- Geopolitical Risk Advisory: Provide real time briefings to Global Head of Sanctions on shifting regional dynamics.
What You’ll Need
- Sanctions Expertise: 5+ years in a senior sanctions role.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with CBUAE AML/CFT Rulebook and US, UK, EU sanctions authorities.
- Technical Skills: Experience with goAML reporting portal and strong understanding of local risk factors.
- Regional Context: Proven ability to navigate geopolitical complexities of MENA region.
