Position Overview

The Receptionist works in the Front Office and reports to the Front Office Manager.

The role welcomes guests, manages check-in and check-out, handles inquiries, and supports efficient hotel operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet guests professionally.
  • Handle check-in, check-out, room assignments, payments, deposits, and front-office transactions.
  • Verify guest details and documents according to hotel procedures.
  • Respond to inquiries about facilities, services, rates, and local information.
  • Handle calls, emails, guest requests, reservations, amendments, and cancellations.
  • Monitor VIP, group, and special arrivals and assist with arrangements.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Reservations, Accounts, Food and Beverage, Engineering, and other departments.
  • Handle complaints, maintain records and documentation, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Promote upgrades and hotel services and maintain the front desk and lobby appearance.
  • Complete shift handovers and follow confidentiality, security, health, safety, and Qatar regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in hotel reception, Front Office, Guest Relations, or a similar role is required.
  • A hospitality qualification is an advantage.
  • Previous hotel experience is preferred.
  • Hotel PMS experience is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Good command of English is required; Hindi or Arabic is an advantage.
  • Good computer skills, including MS Office, are required.
  • The role requires communication, interpersonal, customer service, guest-handling, organization, and time-management skills.
  • The role requires problem-solving, telephone etiquette, teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure.

Operational Requirements

  • The candidate must be willing to work flexible shifts, including night shifts.
  • The role may require work on weekends and public holidays.
  • The role operates in a fast-paced hotel environment and requires professional appearance and conduct.

Compensation

  • Pay is QAR 2,700 to QAR 3,000 per month.

  • The position is full-time.
