Responsible For

  • The Quality Controller cum Nutritionist will be responsible for ensuring food safety, hygiene, quality standards, and nutritional compliance across all meal production processes, and will report to the Sous Chef.

Primary Objective Of Position

The Quality Controller cum Nutritionist is a dual-role position responsible for ensuring that all meals produced meet the highest standards of

food safety, hygiene, consistency, and nutritional value

.

The role combines quality assurance oversight with nutrition planning to support healthy, balanced, and compliant meal offerings.

A. Quality Control Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily food production, preparation, cooking, and packaging processes
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen, storage, and dispatch areas
  • Verify ingredient quality, freshness, and supplier compliance
  • Ensure portion control, consistency, taste, and presentation standards
  • Maintain quality check reports, inspection logs, and corrective action records
  • Identify deviations and coordinate with kitchen team for immediate correction
  • Support internal and external food safety audits
  • Ensure proper labeling, expiry management, and allergen control

B. Nutritionist Responsibilities

  • Design balanced and customized meal plans (weight loss, fitness, medical diets, lifestyle diets)
  • Calculate and validate calories, macronutrients (protein, carbs, fats), and micronutrients
  • Ensure all meals align with dietary guidelines and customer health goals
  • Work with chefs to develop healthy, nutritious, and appealing menu items
  • Review ingredients for nutritional value and dietary suitability
  • Maintain accurate nutrition facts for all menu items and meal plans
  • Support development of specialized programs (keto, vegan, diabetic, low-carb, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with nutrition labeling standards
  • Stay updated with latest nutrition science and food trends

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with chefs, operations, procurement, and packaging teams
  • Provide training to kitchen staff on hygiene, portioning, and nutrition standards
  • Support marketing and customer service teams with nutritional information
  • Contribute to product innovation and menu improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Dietetics, or Clinical Nutrition
  • 2–5 years of experience in food quality control and/or nutrition planning
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and nutrition standards
  • Experience in meal delivery, catering, or cloud kitchen operations preferred
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in nutrition analysis tools is an advantage
