About the Role

- Examine physical, chemical, microbiological and sensory parameters of fats and oils
- Prepare chemical reagents and solutions for lab testing
- Inform QC Manager of any fluctuation in oil quality
- Control concentration of food additives in finished products
- Coordinate with process supervisors to maintain in process quality
- Ensure finished goods meet specifications
- Coordinate with Production Manager on oil type and packaging
- Examine ghee products during chilling
- Control inventory of lab equipment, chemicals and food additives
- Check personal hygiene of plant personnel and cleanliness
- Update documents and report to QC Manager
Requirements
- Bachelors/Master in Chemistry/ Food Technology/ Microbiology
- 3 – 5 years of experience in food testing laboratory/Food industry laboratory
- Knowledge of physical, chemical and microbiological testing procedures in oil & fats products
- Ability to operate food testing equipment like NMR, GC, HPLC

Job Description
- Strategic: Review all QC test procedures and maintain laboratory testing equipment operational procedures.
- Process/Operational: Examine physical, chemical, microbiological and sensory parameters of fats and oils.
Process/Operational Responsibilities
- Prepare different chemical reagents and solutions necessary for lab testing.
- Inform and discuss with QC Manager incase of any fluctuation in the quality of oils.
- Control the concentration of different food additives in finished products.
- Coordinate with process supervisors to maintain the in process quality of oils.
- Ensure that the quality of finished goods are within the specifications.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager so that the type of oil being filled is matching with the packaging materials with correct date coding.
- Examine the ghee products inside the cold rooms and during packing to ensure proper chilling.
- Control the inventory of lab equipment, chemicals and food additives.
- Check the personal hygiene of plant personnel and cleanliness of plant premises and laboratory.
- Update all documents and report to the QC Manager.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors/Master in chemistry/ Food Technology/ Microbiology.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in food testing laboratory/Food industry laboratory.
- Physical, Chemical and Microbiological testing procedure in oil & fats products.
- To operate the food testing equipment like NMR, GC, HPLC, etc.
