About the Role

- Act as the technical lead and design authority, evaluating and applying standard techniques to ensure engineering deliverables conform to safety and quality requirements
- Apply design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations
- Coach project engineers and designers on translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines on projects
- Interact with customers, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure delivery meets contractual obligations
- Create work plans and cost estimates in collaboration with Project Managers
- Collaborate on project installation, commissioning, and site activities to clarify potential issues or provide solutions
- Perform complex field service tasks, identify technical problems, and provide recommendations to improve system and operational performance
Requirements
- Over 5 years of experience in the automation field, working as a DCS/ICSS or PMS/SCMS Engineer with ABB control systems
- Highly skilled in ABB 800xA/Symphony Plus (S+), PMS/SCMS or ICSS/DCS systems
- Proficient in interface configuration using industrial protocols like Modbus, Profibus, OPC, IEC 61850, IEC 101/104
- Degree in Engineering with demonstrated expertise in automation systems and process applications across Oil & Gas and/or Power & Water industries
- At ease communicating in English with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders

Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the technical lead and design authority, evaluating and applying standard techniques to ensure engineering deliverables conform to safety and quality requirements.
- Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.
- Coaching the project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations.
- Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in house and outsourced) on projects.
- Interacting with customers, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure delivery meets contractual obligations and enhances customer satisfaction.
- Creating work plans and cost estimates in collaboration with Project Managers, ensuring timely and cost effective project execution using standard tools and processes.
- Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors.
- Performing complex field service tasks, identifying technical problems, and providing recommendations to improve system and operational performance.
- Utilizing deep knowledge of ABB products (especially ABB INFI90/Harmony, Symphony Plus) to act as a focal point for customer support and contribute to service business development.
Qualifications
- You are highly skilled in ABB 800xA/Symphony Plus (S+), PMS/SCMS or ICSS/DCS systems and have experience working with automation solutions in the Oil & Gas and/or Power & Water sectors.
- You are proficient in interface configuration using industrial protocols like Modbus, Profibus, OPC, IEC 61850, IEC 101/104, between ABB automation systems and third party systems or field devices as applicable.
- You have over 5 years of experience in the automation field, working as a DCS/ICSS or PMS/SCMS Engineer with ABB control systems and industrial communication protocols.
- Possess an enhanced knowledge of ABB 800xA with AC 800M, Symphony Plus, and industrial networking and cybersecurity solutions for control systems.
- You are passionate about customer collaboration and problem solving, and have good communication skills.
- Degree in Engineering with demonstrated expertise in automation systems and process applications across the Oil & Gas and/or Power & Water industries.
- You are at ease communicating in English with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
- You are engaged in engineering design, configuration, and integration of ABB PMS/SCMS/ICSS solutions in both onshore and offshore project environments.
- You enjoy working with IED engineering tools and ABB libraries such as PPM with Load Shedding and Load Sharing applications (for PMS/SCMS engineer).
