Position Summary
Oversee production of high-quality, consistent patient meals at West Park Healthcare Centre’s Nutrition Services department.
Manage food production, menu execution, purchasing, inventory, food safety, workflow, and cost-control systems.
Supervise unionized kitchen staff and support compliance with healthcare and facility safety standards.
Compensation and Schedule
- Salary range is $35.77–$53.65 per hour.
- Schedule is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 5:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
- The posting identifies the position as permanent full-time.
Food Production and Systems
- Manage the Computrition database, recipes, ingredients, menus, user access, pricing, vendor data, and product specifications.
- Develop and revise patient master menus and supervise receiving, storage, preparation, portioning, production flow, and tray assembly.
- Monitor labeling, dating, FIFO rotation, safe handling, production sheets, usage trends, forecasting, waste, and food costs.
- Purchase food through just-in-time ordering and coordinate vendor substitutions during shortages.
