Process Engineer

Role Overview

Cost, Quality, and Progress Control

• Suggest optimization opportunities that contribute to project cost savings and apply fit-for-purpose principles.
• Review changes against the FEED design and control subcontractor and vendor change orders.
• Review engineering subcontractor deliverables to ensure quality meets applicable standards and codes.
• Control post-AFC changes to avoid unnecessary impacts on fabrication and procurement.
• Track 3D models, specialist studies, and deliverables while keeping negative progress variance below 3%.
• Analyze progress variance and submit a detailed report to the COOEC PMT when deliverable progress exceeds 3%.

Procurement Technical Support

• Review and track material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, specifications, and data sheets related to procurement.
• Review technical tender documents, technical clarifications, and bid evaluation documents.
• Review vendor documents and participate in equipment factory acceptance tests.
• Prepare FAT checklists and reports and track the closeout of FAT comments.

Discipline and Interface Management

• Work with engineering subcontractors, vendors, and QatarEnergy to resolve deliverable bottlenecks.
• Ensure process-discipline deliverables do not adversely affect other disciplines, procurement, or fabrication activities.
• Participate in weekly meetings and other discussions related to the process discipline.
• Coordinate regularly with subcontractors and vendors to keep discipline work progressing smoothly.
• Manage interfaces with other disciplines, third parties, and vendors.

Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and regulations.
• Support environmental and emissions management initiatives.
• Participate in audits and regulatory reviews.
• Report to the department manager, process discipline head, and PMT.

Interfaces

• The role interfaces with the client, subcontractor counterparts, third parties, and vendors.

Requirements

• Senior engineering responsibility for process-discipline cost, quality, engineering progress, and interface management.
• Ability to support procurement activities through technical document review, bid evaluation, vendor coordination, and FAT participation.
• Ability to ensure designs comply with applicable standards and regulations.
