About the Role
Serve as the foremost technical authority within the Product Engineering and Technology division.
Define technical direction for flagship cybersecurity products and drive sovereign and Post-Quantum Cryptography adoption.
Architect high-assurance software for enterprise environments and sensitive sovereign, air-gapped infrastructures.
Sovereign Architecture and Backend
- Lead resilient backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Establish engineering standards, coding practices, and architectural principles.
- Design scalable microservices for connected and disconnected sovereign environments.
- Embed sovereign cryptography, secure key management, PQC readiness, and data protection mechanisms.
- Ensure compliance with NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls.
Frontend and Integration
- Lead responsive frontend platforms using Vue.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Integrate application platforms with cybersecurity hardware appliances in Operational Technology environments.
- Ensure real-time communication, synchronization, and data integrity across distributed systems.
- Drive frontend performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Technical Leadership
- Act as the highest technical escalation point for complex software engineering challenges.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leads.
- Define best practices for architecture, code quality, reliability, security, and performance.
- Review critical architectural decisions and provide authoritative technical direction.
Secure Development Lifecycle
- Champion SSDLC practices across engineering teams.
- Establish security-first processes from project inception through deployment and maintenance.
- Design secure CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
- Drive SAST, DAST, dependency, container, and infrastructure security scanning.
- Ensure releases meet stringent security and quality standards.
Strategic Architecture and Innovation
- Define the long-term technical roadmap for software platforms and engineering practices.
- Lead technical debt reduction while maintaining delivery velocity.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and cryptographic approaches.
- Support sovereign cybersecurity solutions and secure digital transformation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience at Principal Engineer, Lead Architect, or equivalent senior technical leadership level.
- Experience delivering complex distributed systems in high-security or mission-critical environments.
- Extensive hands-on coding experience with continued architecture and development involvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred.
- Preferred certifications include CSSLP, CKS, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, CISSP, GSSP, and TOGAF.
