Artificial Intelligence Engineer - 12 Months Contract

Role Overview

AI Agent Development

• Build and deploy AI agents on Microsoft Foundry using agent frameworks, model catalogues, and tool or function calling.
• Integrate agents with Palantir Foundry through Model Context Protocol to retrieve data and execute Ontology actions.
• Implement retrieval, memory, and multi-agent orchestration patterns in Python.
• Build evaluation harnesses and guardrails for groundedness, safety, cost, and latency.

Productionization

• Apply prompt engineering, structured outputs, retrieval-augmented generation, and grounding techniques.
• Operate agents in production with observability, tracing, cost monitoring, regression testing, and incident response.
• Manage versioning of prompts, tools, and agent configurations alongside code.

Azure and Platform Integration

• Integrate Azure OpenAI, AI Search, Storage, Functions, Container Apps, Key Vault, and Entra ID.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated evaluations as release gates.
• Implement authentication, authorization, secret management, and secure data-handling patterns.

Collaboration

• Translate agent use cases into delivery plans with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and IT Architects.
• Communicate model, latency, cost, and accuracy trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Champion reusable agentic patterns across the engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Production experience building LLM-based or agentic systems with tool use, orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong Python skills with typed, tested, asynchronous, and modern packaged code.
• Experience building production AI agents using Microsoft Foundry, Azure AI Foundry, or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience with Azure AI services, LLM application patterns, evaluation frameworks, and observability.
• DevOps fundamentals including Git, CI/CD, containers, and infrastructure as code.
• Advanced degrees and Microsoft Foundry experience are preferred.
• Experience in agile or start-up environments and exposure to data engineering or vector stores are preferred.
