Position Purpose
- The Fragrance Merchant supports the execution of merchandising strategies at regional level by adapting central assortment, allocation, and activation plans to local market needs.
- This role ensures product relevance, inventory optimization, and consistent execution across stores within the region.
Assortment Management & Merchandising
- Support the Category Director in developing and executing category strategies, including sales forecasting, stock planning, and product lifecycle management.
- Manage SKU level assortments across assigned fragrance brands, ensuring an optimal product mix aligned with commercial objectives.
- Monitor stock levels across retail stores and e commerce platforms to ensure product availability for launches, animations, and key commercial moments.
- Maintain and optimize planograms to maximize brand visibility and merchandising excellence.
- Develop and manage the fragrance category calendar, including new product launches, assortment expansions, store openings, and discontinuation plans.
- Prepare SKU level sales forecasts by country, aligned with brand budgets and commercial targets.
- Analyze inventory performance, identify risks related to overstock or slow moving products, and recommend corrective action plans.
- Conduct regular assortment reviews and performance analyses to identify opportunities for assortment optimization and productivity improvements.
- Coordinate regulatory and compliance requirements for all new product launches.
- Collaborate with brand partners and internal stakeholders to plan and execute activations, launches, promotional campaigns, and thematic animations.
- Coordinate training support with brand partners and the Education team to ensure successful product launches and category growth.
- Handle shelving plan for instore merchandising of fragrances based on brand performance.
Brand Management
- Manage the end to end lifecycle of assigned fragrance brands, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brand partners and key internal stakeholders.
- Develop and execute brand strategies that drive sales growth, market share, and brand equity.
- Lead regular business reviews with brand partners, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time and in line with agreed objectives.
- Identify commercial opportunities and recommend actions to maximize brand performance.
- Monitor and report on brand performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to management.
- Develop compelling business presentations supported by relevant data, performance metrics, and market insights.
- Partner closely cross functionally with all relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of brand initiatives.
Omnichannel & Marketing
- Collaborate cross functionally to deliver consistent and impactful brand experiences across all customer touchpoints.
- Coordinate brand activations across retail and e commerce channels, ensuring alignment on visibility, content, and commercial priorities.
- Secure and manage brand assets required for digital campaigns, product launches, and in store activations.
- Ensure timely procurement and allocation of samples and gifts for e commerce, CRM, and promotional initiatives.
- Lead brand participation in PR and influencer activations in accordance with Sephora guidelines.
- Coordinate annual PR, seeding, and gifting plans with brand partners and the PR team.
- Support the execution of digital marketing campaigns, ensuring timely delivery and implementation.
- Define product priorities for CRM communications and marketing campaigns in alignment with category objectives.
- Partner with the Social Media team to align content calendars, promotional activities, competitions, and gifting initiatives.
- Participate in weekly omnichannel and marketing meetings to align priorities and track project execution.
E commerce Management
- Define and manage the online assortment strategy for the fragrance category.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication of assortment updates to all relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain balanced and optimized online representation of brands, including new launches and key hero products.
- Collaborate with the E commerce team to secure assets, content, and promotional support for digital activations.
- Identify and secure online exclusives, pre launch opportunities, and digital first initiatives with brand partners.
- Monitor e commerce performance and recommend actions to improve visibility, conversion, and sales.
Reporting & Financial Management
- Prepare monthly category and brand performance reports, including key KPIs and commercial insights.
- Track brand budgets by country and store, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
- Conduct regular business reviews with brand partners to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities.
- Ensure accurate budget management, cost tracking, and timely reinvoicing processes.
- Provide management with clear recommendations based on sales performance, inventory trends, and market opportunities.

- Minimum 3–4 years of experience in Merchandising, Category Management, Brand Management, Buying, or a related commercial role, preferably within beauty, fragrance, FMCG, or retail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data driven decisions.
- Proven experience managing brands, assortments, and commercial partnerships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Proactive, detail oriented, and commercially minded with a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across cross functional teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with retail planning and reporting tools is an advantage.
