The employer is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector with prior engineering-industry experience, preferably in contracting or consulting.
The role supports on-site mechanical works and project delivery through inspection, testing, commissioning, and compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and monitor mechanical works on site for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes or standards.
- Conduct inspections for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems.
- Review material submittals, method statements, and inspection requests.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and consultants to resolve technical issues.
- Prepare records of inspections, test reports, and site observations.
- Verify mechanical installations against safety and quality requirements.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Maintain QA/QC documentation, report non-conformances, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Perform other project-related tasks assigned by the Project or Construction Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector, preferably within an engineering consultancy or contracting company.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with UAE construction codes, standards, and regulations.
- Good understanding of QA/QC processes and inspection methodologies.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering tools or software.
- Strong attention to detail, issue-identification, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections in a fast-paced environment.
Work Setting
- The role includes on-site inspection and coordination of mechanical works.
