Role Overview
Support estimating and tendering for Oil & Gas and industrial projects.
The role covers material take-offs, RFIs, RFQs, cost estimation, BOQs, supplier comparisons, and tender preparation.
The position requires understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and international mechanical codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents and analyse drawings, specifications, and BOQs to define project scope.
- Prepare material take-offs, quantity calculations, BOQs, cost estimates, rate build-ups, and tender pricing.
- Generate RFIs and RFQs and follow up with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare quotation and commercial comparison sheets and support supplier or subcontractor evaluation.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings, specifications, and BOQs and support negotiations.
- Develop scope breakdowns, support tender review packs and value engineering, and maintain tendering logs.
- Use estimation software and contribute to tendering process improvement, digitisation, and innovative practices.
Required Experience and Technical Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical estimation or tendering.
- Experience working on Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
- Hands-on experience with MTO, RFIs, RFQs, BOQs, cost estimation, rate build-up, tendering, scope breakdown, and supplier or subcontractor comparison.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Fuel Farm, Storage Tank, and Fuel Piping projects.
- Knowledge of ASME, API, and ASTM codes and standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and client specifications, visualise drawings in 3D, and understand construction methodology and sequencing.
- Experience with Candy Estimation Software is preferred.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Civil, Electrical, Architectural Engineering, or Quantity Surveying may be considered with relevant mechanical estimation experience.
Preferred Certification
- LEED Green Associate certification is preferred.

- Estimation and tendering, MTO and quantity take-off, cost estimation and rate build-up, engineering drawing interpretation, RFI or RFQ management, and BOQ and scope analysis.
- Vendor or subcontractor evaluation, Oil & Gas and industrial project knowledge, commercial awareness, attention to detail, and analytical and problem-solving skills.
