About the Role
Bechtel is seeking a Materials Manager for the Ar Rjum gold project in Riyadh. The role involves leading materials management activities during the front-end stage, ensuring effective coordination between engineering, procurement, and construction.

Responsibilities
- Maintain direct working relationships with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Procurement, and Customer to ensure mutual understanding and attainment of objectives
- Review initial master schedule, detailed timing and sequence of each functional group, and actual progress to confirm materials meet required delivery dates
- Ensure adherence to the Project Execution Plan and that key activities are performed in the right sequence
- Coordinate the project plan for identifying major equipment and bulk materials with Engineering
- Collaborate with DSCS automation coordinator to ensure data flows properly from Engineering to populate all systems throughout the Supply Chain
- Utilize the materials components of the project Automation Plan to monitor related data transfers between functional groups
- Ensure items on the equipment list have been identified for requisition and purchase, and that requisition issue dates support project detail schedules
- Issue the Material Responsibility Matrix (MRM) to reflect agreed division of functional responsibilities for material activities
- Prepare and implement project specific Materials Management Plan with respect to applicable commodity groups
- Interface between Construction and Procurement functions to identify, requisition and establish delivery dates for material requirements
- Monitor Procurement reports and activities to ensure purchasing and expediting are working effectively to maintain milestone schedule dates
- Review plans at the jobsite for adequacy of material warehousing, maintenance, control and handling
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10 13 years of relevant experience, or 14 17 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with applicable Bechtel policies, instructions, and Procurement procedures and guidelines highly desirable
- Knowledge and experience in the use of digital supply chain systems, Engineering tools and other project data systems
- Prior experience in major global, direct hire and contract management projects, which include Engineering, Procurement and materials control activities
- Advanced knowledge of all procurement operations related to the management of materials at area, regional, temporary and jobsite office locations
- Advanced knowledge of Engineering and Construction activities and deliverables including a knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures related to materials management functions
- Effectively collaborates and coordinates with Construction and Field Procurement

Job Summary
- The Materials Manager provides expertise, advice, and direction for project and field materials management activities during the front end stage of the project.
- Establishes policy and monitors and approves the development of execution plans involving automated and manual material management and inventory control systems.
- Plans, directs, coordinates, and monitors personnel actions for material management staff.
Major Responsibilities

- Effectively collaborates and coordinates with Construction and Field Procurement, the plans for material identification, material availability in support of installation plans, and equipment requiring special handling at the site.
