Job Summary

A Logistics Manager in the construction sector is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the movement of materials, equipment, and workforce to ensure smooth project execution.

The role requires strong knowledge of construction operations, supply chain processes, and site coordination.

Logistics & Supply Chain Management

  • Plan and oversee procurement, transportation, and delivery of construction materials.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure timely availability on-site without overstocking.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and transport companies.

Construction Site Coordination

  • Align logistics schedules with project timelines and site requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are delivered safely and efficiently.

Inventory & Warehouse Control

  • Monitor stock levels, track usage, and maintain accurate records.
  • Implement systems for efficient storage and distribution of materials.
  • Manage warehouse operations (if applicable).

Transportation & Fleet Management

  • Arrange transport of heavy machinery and construction materials.
  • Optimize routes and delivery schedules to reduce delays and costs.
  • Oversee fleet maintenance and compliance.

Cost Control & Budgeting

  • Monitor logistics expenses and control costs.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and logistics providers.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all logistics operations comply with local regulations and safety standards.
  • Follow construction safety protocols during material handling and transport.
  • Maintain documentation for audits and inspections.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in logistics, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and materials.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).

• Problem Solving & Decision Making

  • Negotiation Skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure or building projects
  • Knowledge of local (UAE/GCC) logistics regulations
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment logistics
