- Ensure all the lifting team have been briefed and have acknowledged their roles and responsibilities on the planned lifting operations
- Assess the site conditions, crane capacities, and loads to ensure safe lifting operations
- Coordinate with equipment operators, riggers, and other team members to ensure smooth operations
- Conduct pre lift inspections of equipment and lifting accessories (slings, shackles, hooks, etc.)
- Ensure all lifting operations comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with lifting activities
- Supervise all lifting activities to ensure they are executed as per the approved lifting plan
- Direct crane operators, riggers, and other team members during lifting operations
- Monitor load handling to prevent overloading and unsafe practices
- Provide guidance and training to team members on safe lifting practices and procedures
- Maintain detailed records of lifting operations, equipment inspections, and incident reports
- Prepare and submit lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements as required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 3 years of experience in Lifting Supervision roles, preferably in the Middle East
- Certification in lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations is required
- Certified Lifting Supervisor qualification from a recognized authority (e.g., LEEA, NPORS, CPCS or equivalent)
- Familiarity with relevant regulations such as LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations)
- Strong understanding of lifting equipment, rigging methods, and safety standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Role Overview
- The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all lifting operations on a construction site to ensure they are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with legal and industry standards.
- This role involves planning, supervising, and executing lifting operations while ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.
Planning & Coordination
- Ensure all the lifting team have been briefed and have acknowledged their roles and responsibilities on the planned lifting operations.
- Assess the site conditions, crane capacities, and loads to ensure safe lifting operations.
- Coordinate with equipment operators, riggers, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Safety Compliance

Duties & Responsibilities (Day to Day)
- Supervise lifting operations on the project.
- Ensure that all lifting operations are in accordance with the approved lifting plan.
- Monitor lifting activities at site level.
- Check certification etc. of all lifting equipment and respective operators as they arrive at site.
- Monitor and evaluate external crane supplier performance to ensure reliability and quality.
Skills
- Proven experience in lifting operations within the construction industry.
- Experience working with heavy lifting equipment and cranes in large scale construction projects.
- Strong understanding of lifting equipment, rigging methods, and safety standards.
- Competence in lifting simulation software or tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. (Preferred).
- Knowledge of crane and lifting equipment maintenance procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to assess risks and implement control measures effectively.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 2 3 years of experience in Lifting Supervision roles, preferably in the Middle East.
- Certification in lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations is required.
- Certified Lifting Supervisor qualification from a recognized authority (e.g., LEEA, NPORS, CPCS or equivalent).
