Job Description

  • Sofitel is hiring a Laundry Supervisor to oversee laundry operations.

Main Duties

  • Go through log book for follow up
  • Periodical check up linen chart and pantry
  • Ensure all linen/rewash linen returned promptly
  • Check preventive maintenance
  • Keep records of daily housework, production record
  • Rotate employees to different jobs as needed
  • Ensure ample stock of chemicals and items
  • Keep attendance records and prepare duty rosters

Financial and Revenue Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly inventories

Training and Human Resources

  • Maximize potential of ambassadors through training
  • Work closely with staff and do on job training
  • Create positive working environment and develop teamwork
  • Eliminate potential problems and unhealthy practices
  • Ensure workplace free of discrimination and harassment
  • Treat complaints of harassment promptly and confidentially
  • Treat customers and colleagues with respect
  • Identify and deal with cross cultural issues

Guest Service Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality control for guest laundry, room linen, F&B linen and uniform
  • Ensure linen and uniforms are damage free and properly pressed
  • Check quality finishing of product

Maintenance and Equipment

  • Know how to operate all equipment and train staff in safe handling
  • Inform engineering of malfunctioning machinery
  • Assist in preventive maintenance program

Miscellaneous

  • Supervise laundry operations ensuring hotel standards
  • Supervise outsourced laundry services for quality
  • Ensure staff know textiles and proper care
  • Constantly check linen and uniform for cleanliness and defects
  • Ensure work areas are well maintained and hazards removed
  • Comply with reasonable requests from supervisors
  • May be assigned other duties as required

Health and Safety

  • Report potential and real hazards immediately
  • Be conversant with Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures
  • Ensure emergency procedures are rehearsed and enforced
  • Ensure safety of persons and property
  • Ensure staff work safely
  • Use safe manual handling techniques and follow HSE policies

Confidentiality

  • Ensure confidentiality of intellectual property and data
  • Adhere to Accor Internet and Email policy
  • Keep Hotel, Customer and Staff information confidential
