Job Summary

  • The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation, storage, and distribution of goods to ensure timely and cost effective delivery.
  • The role involves monitoring shipments, coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal departments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport providers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
  • Track shipments and resolve transportation delays or delivery issues promptly.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs documentation.
  • Coordinate customs clearance and ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Optimize transportation routes and logistics costs while maintaining service quality.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to support operational and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate logistics records and update ERP systems with shipment and inventory information.
  • Analyze logistics performance and prepare reports on transportation costs, delivery timelines, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless supply chain activities.
  • Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, damages, and claims.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are an advantage.
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or warehouse operations.
  • Experience with import/export procedures and customs documentation is preferred.
  • GCC/UAE logistics experience is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation and customs procedures.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, FACTS ERP, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
