Insurance Manager

About the Role

Insurance Policy Management

• Manage and administer corporate insurance policies across global operations.
• Oversee policy renewals, negotiations, and placements with brokers and insurers.
• Drive premium reductions and improved terms through broker management.
• Ensure coverage for marine and cargo, property and assets, liability, operational, and infrastructure risks.
• Review coverage to ensure alignment with business risk exposure.

Claims Management

• Handle the end-to-end insurance claims process across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assess, prepare, and submit claims documentation with internal teams.
• Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, and legal advisors to support timely resolution.
• Track claims status, recoveries, and trends, and drive improved settlement outcomes.

Risk and Compliance

• Identify and evaluate operational risks and recommend insurance solutions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual insurance requirements across regions.
• Support contract reviews from insurance and liability perspectives.
• Maintain accurate records of policies, claims, and renewals.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the key internal and external contact for insurance-related matters.
• Work with operations, finance, legal, and commercial teams globally.
• Coordinate with brokers to optimise coverage, pricing, and service delivery.

Reporting and Analysis

• Report on claims performance, insurance costs and renewals, and risk exposure trends.
• Drive efficiencies and cost reductions across insurance activities.
• Support budgeting and forecasting for insurance programs.

Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Law, or a related field is required.
• ACII or an equivalent professional certification is advantageous.
• At least eight years of experience in corporate insurance or risk management is required.
• Strong claims handling and policy management experience is required.
• Experience in port operations, shipping, logistics, industrial, or infrastructure sectors is highly preferred.
• Experience managing multi-country or global insurance programs is required.

Preferred Capabilities

• Strong understanding of insurance structures and coverage types is preferred.
• Experience managing complex, high-value claims is preferred.
• Commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and strong documentation and reporting capability are preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment is preferred.
