Role Overview
The Design Lead for Instrumentation will review and execute instrumentation and automation engineering activities for solar PV power plants.
The role supports the full engineering cycle from pre-bid work through commissioning and warranty periods and provides support to site teams.
The lead will manage design engineers and draughtspeople while delivering engineering work within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Engineering Delivery
- Deliver engineering drawings and documents in line with project schedules.
- Review design-engineer and draughtsperson drawings and check design and sizing calculations for engineering electrical equipment.
- Review vendor engineering deliverables and provide technical clarifications to contracts and project teams.
- Estimate and plan man-hour requirements and review bills of quantities.
- Coordinate with multiple disciplines to complete inter-departmental checks.
- Provide design clarifications and support to the site execution team.
- Collect project inputs from the client and Project Engineering Manager.
Vendor and Site Coordination
- Check pre-award vendor evaluations against client technical specification requirements.
- Inspect equipment from finalized vendors after validation documents are submitted.
- Forward vendor validation documents to Supply Chain Management.
- Support engineering activities during commissioning and warranty periods.
Role Requirements
- Capability to execute instrumentation and automation engineering activities for solar PV power plants.
- Capability to facilitate BIM 3D model development and coordinate civil, structural, electrical, MEP, and other disciplines.
- Capability to lead design engineers and draughtspeople and manage engineering delivery within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
