About the Role
Petrofac seeks a Mechanical QC Inspector to perform receiving inspection, surveillance, and quality control for mechanical equipment at a construction site in Abu Dhabi. Requires a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and experience in oil & gas/petrochemical industry.

Responsibilities
- Carry out receiving inspection for mechanical equipment delivered to construction site
- Periodically check material lay down and warehouse areas for proper equipment storage
- Ensure equipment foundations are released by Civil QC Inspector
- Check periodic preservation records and ensure required testing is performed
- Review mechanical jobs for progress and prepare daily surveillance audits
- Witness dimensional checks, alignment checks, bolt torqueing/tightening
- Facilitate inspection of mechanical jobs by client
- Review equipment certification and documentation for compliance
- Supervise erection, mounting, and alignment of rotating equipment
- Inspect internals of equipment for correct installation and cleanliness
- Witness chemical/mechanical cleaning, flushing, and final assembly inspection
- Coordinate with civil inspector for pre pour inspection and release of critical items
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of ASME and API codes and standards
- Experience as Mechanical QC Inspector in oil & gas/petrochemical industry
- Previous experience with major EPC contractor or subcontractor

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Thorough working knowledge of International Codes and Standards, specifically ASME and API Codes/practices.
- Minimum years of experience as Mechanical QC Inspector.
- Experience in oil & gas/petrochemical industry.
- Previously worked with major EPC contractor or their subcontractors.
