Infrastructure Systems Administrator (Windows/Linux)

Role Overview

General System Management

• Monitor server performance, capacity, and resource utilization using tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, Nagios, or SolarWinds.
• Perform backups, disaster recovery drills, data integrity checks, patching, vulnerability assessments, configuration optimization, and infrastructure documentation.

Cloud Infrastructure Management

• Configure and monitor virtual machines, storage, and networking across public and hybrid cloud environments.
• Support directory synchronization, identity-aware proxies, cost optimization, workload scaling, cloud troubleshooting, and cloud security governance.

Windows and Linux Operations

• Administer Windows Server installation, configuration, clustering, and failover management.
• Manage Red Hat-based Linux distributions such as RHEL, CentOS, and Rocky Linux, including shell scripting, package management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Enforce server hardening and firewall rules and automate provisioning and maintenance with PowerShell, Ansible, and Bash.

Active Directory Management

• Manage users, groups, policies, permissions, authentication, Group Policy Objects, and Azure AD hybrid setups.
• Maintain directory health, conduct security and compliance audits, implement least-privilege access, and support migrations, upgrades, and federation services.

HCI Environment Management

• Configure HCI cluster nodes and storage pools, balance workloads, implement failover clustering, and test disaster recovery scenarios.
• Apply firmware and hypervisor updates and monitor Nutanix Prism and VMware vSAN environments.

Experience and Education

• 5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure administration experience, including at least 2 years focused on Windows Server and Linux.
• Proven experience managing hybrid IT setups and public or hybrid cloud environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft and Linux certifications such as RHCSA or MCSA are preferred.
• Hyperconverged infrastructure certifications such as Nutanix or Dell VxRail are preferred.
• Virtualization certifications such as VMware VCP are preferred.
• Cloud certifications such as AWS or Azure are preferred.

Required Skills

• In-depth Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, and server clustering skills.
• Advanced Red Hat-based Linux administration skills covering installation, configuration, patching, performance tuning, hardening, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on VMware and Nutanix experience, plus cloud resource management and automation using Ansible, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
