Job Summary

  • The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across guest rooms as per hotel brand requirements.
  • The role ensures timely room servicing, proper use of cleaning products and equipment, and a positive guest interaction at all times.
  • By following operational procedures and delivering quality service, the Room Attendant supports guest satisfaction and contributes to the overall efficiency and reputation of the Housekeeping Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel SOPs and quality standards.
  • Ensure correct bed making, bathroom sanitation, and cleaning of furniture, carpets, and surfaces.
  • Replenish amenities, towels, and guest supplies in accordance with par stock levels.
  • Inspect room facilities (lighting, AC, television, minibar, etc.) and report any malfunction.
  • Report damaged or missing items to the Team Leader immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked trolley at all times.
  • Follow efficient workflow to support timely room readiness for arrivals and departures.
  • Respond to guest requests promptly, courteously, and professionally.
  • Deliver room service assistance or additional linen/supplies as needed.
  • Ensure respect and safety of all guest belongings and personal privacy.
  • Assist in service recovery actions when service deviations occur.
  • Maintain a calm and positive attitude in all guest interactions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Follow chemical safety, correct PPE usage, and safe handling of housekeeping tools.
  • Adhere to Lost & Found procedures including handover and documentation.
  • Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards consistently.
  • Ensure waste segregation and follow sustainability/environmental guidelines.
  • Uphold hotel health & safety standards to reduce risk and accidents.
  • Report room status updates (clean, inspected, out of order) accurately and timely.
  • Attend daily briefings to understand priorities, VIP arrivals, and special requests.
  • Support other attendants and contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training, including new cleaning techniques and products.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and other departments to ensure efficient operations.
  • Performs additional tasks required by the Department.
