Role Overview
The General Accountant is responsible for managing the hotel receiving function in a timely, smooth, and efficient manner.
The role ensures procured goods meet quality requirements and comply with hotel policies, procedures, and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review supplier invoices for originality, numbering, itemization, clear descriptions, and clerical accuracy.
- Acknowledge satisfactory deliveries with the hotel seal and signature.
- Review deviation reports and outstanding order reports according to hotel standards.
- Review outgoing records weekly for serial control and completeness.
- Highlight outstanding outgoing records to department heads.
- Maintain authorized manual and computer filing systems.
- Manage book closing and preparation of financial reports.
- Review and reconcile the general ledger, bank accounts, and profit and loss accounts.
- Analyze financial reports, identify trends, and make recommendations.
- Review receiving reports, invoices, expense reports, payment vouchers, and cashier reports for authorization and accuracy.
- Supervise monthly payroll preparation and timely salary disbursement.
- Monitor internal controls and coordinate internal and external audits.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an accountant in a hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of cost and store inventory.
- High school diploma or higher qualification is essential.
