Job Summary

Beverage Preparation and Quality

• Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, teas, specialty drinks, and other beverages according to approved recipes and presentation standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment safely and efficiently.
• Apply espresso extraction, milk steaming, beverage presentation, and basic latte art techniques where applicable.
• Monitor beverage taste, temperature, portioning, freshness, presentation, and consistency.

Guest Service and POS

• Welcome guests, take orders accurately, provide menu recommendations, and respond professionally to questions and concerns.
• Handle complaints courteously and escalate issues when necessary.
• Process orders and payments using the hotel POS system, including cash, cards, room charges, and vouchers.
• Maintain accurate cash handling and report transaction discrepancies promptly.

Cleanliness and Safety

• Maintain clean, organized, and hygienic workstations and guest-facing areas throughout each shift.
• Clean and sanitize machines, grinders, blenders, counters, utensils, equipment, and service areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, storage, labeling, temperature-control, and cross-contamination procedures.
• Restock cups, lids, napkins, straws, condiments, takeaway packaging, and other supplies.

Inventory and Equipment

• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damaged products, wastage, and low-stock items.
• Assist with receiving, checking, storing, and organizing deliveries and follow FIFO principles.
• Carry out daily equipment cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and maintenance requirements promptly.

Teamwork and Standards

• Work with baristas, servers, culinary staff, supervisors, managers, and hotel departments to maintain smooth service.
• Support colleagues during busy periods and assist with outlet opening, closing, and daily operational duties.
• Uphold hotel service, quality, grooming, hygiene, privacy, confidentiality, and health and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Barista training, hospitality, or food and beverage certification is advantageous.
• Previous barista, café, restaurant, hotel, or similar hospitality experience is preferred or advantageous.
• Good knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso-making techniques is required.
• Familiarity with beverage equipment, food safety, POS systems, cash handling, inventory control, and stock rotation is required.

Physical and Working Requirements

• The role requires standing and walking for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks such as reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying.
• The employee must be able to work effectively during periods of high guest volume.
• The employee must be flexible to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and varying schedules.
