Overview
We are a fast-growing retail and e-commerce business based in Doha, Qatar, looking to bring on a Finance Manager to build and lead our finance and accounting department from the ground up.
This is a senior role for someone who thinks strategically, understands the commercial side of the business, and can translate numbers into decisions.
You will own the financial direction of the business, drive performance, manage risk, and ensure leadership always has a clear picture of where the business stands and where it is going.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen the finance and accounting department from scratch including structure, SOPs, workflows, and internal controls
- Establish financial controls, processes, and reporting systems across the business
- Build and supervise the accounting team ensuring full alignment with the overall strategy
- Manage daily cash flow, monitor company liquidity, and prepare weekly and monthly forecasts
- Oversee sales reconciliations, collections, and bank reconciliations
- Monitor supplier payments, payables, and outstanding balances
- Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and management reports
- Build executive dashboards covering sales, cash flow, expenses, and profitability
- Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, logistics, and operations teams
- Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate cost allocation across entities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes
- Identify financial gaps, risks, and opportunities and present clear solutions to leadership
- Evaluate potential business opportunities and expansions with data-driven recommendations
- Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks before they impact the business
- Drive pricing and margin analysis to support commercial and purchasing decisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; Master's degree is a plus
- 8+ years of progressive finance experience within the GCC, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven background in retail, e-commerce, distribution, or trading businesses
- Demonstrated experience building finance functions and strategies from scratch
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to evaluate opportunities and advise at leadership level
- Solid foundation in financial reporting, cash flow management, and commercial analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
- Experience in multi-country or multi-entity operations
- Background in import/export finance or procurement
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or CIMA is a strong advantage
