Job Summary
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions for building projects.
Work with estimating, design, and procurement teams during pre-contract stages to capture costs, assess risks, and support commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze tender documents, architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
- Prepare BOQs using SMM7, CESMM, and UAE-specific measurement requirements.
- Develop unit rates and pricing strategies based on market rates and supplier quotations.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements using digital tools or manual methods.
- Review subcontractor and supplier tenders for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Identify cost risks, exclusions, and commercially sensitive contract clauses.
- Prepare tender submissions, pricing schedules, cost summaries, and commercial documents.
- Support bid presentations and clarifications with cost breakdowns and technical explanations.
- Benchmark UAE material, labor, and equipment rates and maintain historical cost data.
- Apply value engineering and prepare risk registers for senior management review.
- Contribute to bid or no-bid decisions by assessing commercial viability and project risks.
- Ensure compliance with tender procedures, contractual standards, and UAE construction law.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
- At least 4 years of pre-contract quantity surveying experience in building construction in the UAE or GCC.
- Strong knowledge of SMM7, CESMM, and UAE-specific BOQ formats.
- Proficiency in Planswift for quantity take-offs and pricing.
