Position Overview
Scarborough Transit Connect is seeking an Environmental Management System (EMS) Compliance Coordinator for the Scarborough Subway Extension project.
The role supports the Environmental Director and coordinates with environmental, compliance, quality, project controls, communications, and procurement functions.
Responsibilities
- Support EMS development, implementation, maintenance, and updates in accordance with ISO 14001 and project requirements.
- Maintain EMS policies, procedures, work instructions, records, trackers, and related software tools.
- Analyze environmental data, maintain dashboards, and report KPIs and EMS objectives.
- Develop and deliver EMS training, coordinate audits, and support environmental non-conformance resolution.
- Coordinate sustainability reporting, environmental submittals, procurement administration, budget forecasts, and supplier payments.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in the environmental industry.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in environmental science, civil engineering with an environmental background, or another relevant discipline.
- ISO 14001 auditor certification and experience implementing and auditing ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
- Proficiency in data management, analysis, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Understanding of Ontario environmental regulations and best practices.
- A valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence is required.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with major transit projects is an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
Compensation
- Annual compensation is listed as $95,000 to $115,000.
- The salary range reflects potential base pay and considers experience, education, and training.
