Role Overview

Provide high-level economic analysis and policy advice for economic surveillance and reform-program follow-up.

Assess member-country eligibility for financing requests and contribute to research, training, and technical assistance.

Economic Surveillance and Financing

  • Assess the economic and financial eligibility of financing applicants in line with AMF lending policies.
  • Conduct risk analysis, debt sustainability analysis, and assessments of financing needs.
  • Monitor macroeconomic and financial developments in assigned countries.

Policy Advice and Reform Programs

  • Prepare policy notes on economic challenges and recommended reforms.
  • Participate in consultations with member-country officials on economic reform programs.
  • Provide policy advice and technical assistance for macroeconomic and structural policy formulation.
  • Prepare monitoring reports on economic programs and reform implementation.

Research and Reporting

  • Prepare economic surveillance, country, and forward-looking policy reports.
  • Draft letters of intent, policy briefs, recommendations, and other required reports.
  • Conduct country, regional, and global economic research studies.
  • Contribute to AMF flagship economic reports.

Collaboration and Development

  • Participate in committees and forums related to economic policy discussions.
  • Contribute to training programs, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Build relationships with internal departments, member-country authorities, international partners, and stakeholders.
  • Recommend improvements to data collection, analytical tools, policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 5–6 years of experience in economic or financial sector policy.
  • Experience in international financial institutions, central banks, or ministries of finance is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Macroeconomics, Public Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in macroeconomic analysis, economic modeling, and policy advisory.
  • Additional certifications in economics or related fields are advantageous.
