About the Role

- Perform routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities
- Support implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
- Assist with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
- Prepare cost data for proposals or contracts
- Coordinate development and accuracy of cost reports
- Prepare specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
- Collect and classify cost data
- Prepare cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
- 5 8 years of relevant experience or 9 12 years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in PC operating systems and multiple discipline specific software applications (e.g., Ecosys, Hyperion, Digital Supply Chain)
- Knowledge of financial report systems and controller account codes
- Intermediate level of understanding of Project Controls general technical skills
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes (preferred)

Project Overview
- Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.
- The M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.
Major Responsibilities
- Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed
- Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
- Assists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
- Prepares cost data for proposals or contracts
- Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports
- Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency
- Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
- Collects and classifies cost data
- Performs budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
- Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons
Education And Experience Requirements
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5 8 years of relevant experience or 9 12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Proficiency in using PC operating systems, including several basic software applications and in using multiple discipline specific software applications currently used by Bechtel (Ecosys, Hyperion, Digital Supply Chain, for example)
- Knowledge of financial report systems and controller account codes, and understanding of Controller instructions, which impact Project Controls
- Demonstrates an advanced level of understanding of Project Controls general technical skills
- Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel preferred
- Knowledge of engineering and/or construction management is customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
