The Opportunity
The Corporate Security Manager provides physical security governance and subject-matter expertise to Canadian business divisions.
The role applies standards and ensures compliance with physical security controls, policies, processes, and regulatory requirements.
The position is based at the Aviva head office in Markham, Ontario, includes up to 30% travel, and reports to the Senior Corporate Security Manager.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver security services, strategies, standards, and governance across Canadian business divisions.
- Support Group Security Standards, Controls, and Policies and assign findings to the appropriate team members.
- Manage security service value, SLAs, third-party contracts, control testing, and remediation reporting.
- Complete location security reviews, govern findings, and oversee preventive maintenance with security service vendors.
- Improve risk identification, policies, processes, and security technology implementation.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, and statutory requirements.
- Manage risks related to terrorism and malicious intrusion and maintain control-process documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotations, travel security, and executive protection responsibilities.
What You’ll Bring
- At least five years of corporate physical security experience in a large, complex organization, including managerial-level work or an equivalent formal qualification.
- Experience managing physical security programs and systems across multiple locations or jurisdictions.
- Understanding of physical security risk management, threat landscapes, and enterprise controls.
- Experience managing security incidents and complex physical security investigations.
- Strong risk assessment, decision-making, prioritization, stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and people-management capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
- French and English bilingualism is preferred.
- Experience with access control, CCTV, Software House, Avigilon, or Resolver is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
- The salary band is $105,000 to $115,000, with individual compensation based on qualifications, experience, skills, and internal equity.
