Analytics Manager

Opportunity

Key responsibilities

• Lead Hx pricing product development into production with business stakeholders and IT professionals.
• Integrate Hx products with policy administration systems and data lakes using APIs and microservices.
• Design and build efficient, reusable, reliable, and secure Python code using test-driven development.
• Mentor team members on design, coding practices, quality, performance, and security.
• Gather business requirements and ensure delivered solutions meet business needs.
• Communicate progress through stakeholder updates, steering committees, and decision forums.
• Manage agile ceremonies including scrums, planning, and retrospectives.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related field is required.
• At least five years of Python development or software engineering experience is required.
• At least two years of experience managing teams and projects is required.
• Experience with software engineering practices such as code reusability and modularity is required.
• Experience leading collaborative teams using Git and version control repository practices is required.
• Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.

Preferred qualifications

• A master's degree is preferred.
• Proficiency with SQL, Datalake, Snowflake, or AWS is preferred.
• Experience in the insurance industry is preferred.

Work model

• The role is based in Toronto or Markham.
• Aviva Canada offers a hybrid flexible work model.

Compensation and benefits

• The salary band ranges from CAD 135,000 to CAD 155,000.
