The opportunity

What you’ll do

• Lead Hx pricing product development into production with business stakeholders and IT professionals.
• Integrate Hx products with policy administration systems and data lakes through APIs and microservices.
• Design and build efficient, reusable, reliable, and secure Python code using TDD principles.
• Mentor team members on design, code quality, performance, and security practices.
• Gather business requirements and ensure delivery matches business needs.
• Communicate progress to stakeholders through working sessions, steering committees, and decision forums.
• Manage agile scrums, planning, retrospectives, and related delivery rituals.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related field.
• At least five years of Python development or software engineering experience.
• At least two years of experience managing teams and projects.
• Understanding of code reuse, modularity, version control, Git practices, and repository structures.
• Ability to communicate sophisticated ideas to non-technical experts.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred experience

• Proficiency with SQL, Datalake, Snowflake, or AWS.
• Experience in the insurance industry.

Work model

• The position is based in Toronto or Markham and offers a hybrid flexible work model.

Compensation

• The listed salary band is CAD 135,000 to CAD 155,000, with individual salary determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
