Role Overview
Rotana Hotels is seeking a Commis II to support kitchen operations and deliver consistent food quality and guest service.
The role supports the Demi Chef de Partie or Commis I across the main kitchen and satellite sections.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Demi Chef de Partie or Commis I in daily kitchen operations and assigned work.
- Prepare food according to menu specifications from the Chef de Partie.
- Maintain hygienic work areas according to hotel rules.
- Control food stock and food cost in the assigned section.
- Prepare daily mise en place and food production in different main kitchen or satellite sections.
- Follow instructions and recommendations from immediate superiors to complete daily tasks.
- Maintain high standards and consistent quality in daily preparation.
- Stay current with new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
- Coordinate and participate with other sections on requirements, cleanliness, wastage, and cost control.
Education and Experience
- Professional kitchen apprenticeship or chef training course.
- Previous experience in quality establishments.
- Good culinary skills.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and preservation.
Knowledge and Competencies
- Positive, dynamic, creative, and dedicated approach to kitchen work.
- Ability to work as part of a team with the service team.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and under difficult conditions.
- Competencies include understanding the job, taking responsibility, recognizing differences, customer focus, adaptability, and teamwork.
