- Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking and presentation of menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely and consistent manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned work station
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in accordance with UAE regulations and company policies
- Store food items correctly and monitor stock rotation using FIFO method
- Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues
- Minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently
- Support senior chefs during busy service periods and special events
- Maintain a positive attitude and work effectively as part of the kitchen team
Requirements
- Minimum 1 2 years of experience as a Commis I or Commis II in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment
- High school diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts preferred
- Basic knowledge of international and local cuisines
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Good communication skills in English
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced kitchen environment
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Job Summary
- The Commis I is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
- The role supports the Chef de Partie and other senior chefs in the daily operation of the kitchen to ensure efficient and timely food production.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the cooking and presentation of menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely and consistent manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned work station.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in accordance with UAE regulations and company policies.
- Store food items correctly and monitor stock rotation using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
- Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
- Minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently.
- Support senior chefs during busy service periods and special events.
- Maintain a positive attitude and work effectively as part of the kitchen team.
- Comply with all health, safety, and company policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or a certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Commis I or Commis II in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
- Basic knowledge of international and local cuisines.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Good communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced kitchen environment.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Salary
- Pay: AED3,000.00 AED3,200.00 per month
