Job purpose
Support the planning, implementation, and inspection of civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and hands-on experience in construction site inspection, materials testing, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
Duties and responsibilities
- · Perform on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- · Assist in reviewing construction drawings, blueprints, and project documentation.
- · Monitor contractor performance and verify work progress.
- · Document daily activities, prepare inspection reports, and communicate findings to senior engineers.
- · Ensure materials and workmanship meet required standards and approved procedures.
- · Report and follow up on any non-conformities or issues identified during inspections.
- · Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
- · Support testing and commissioning activities as required.
- · Maintain up-to-date records and logs related to project inspections and compliance.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering and construction practices.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software is a plus.
