Summary
You will be responsible for the efficient management and operation of the department, ensuring full alignment with Hyatt International’s Corporate Strategies and brand standards, while consistently meeting the expectations of employees, guests, and ownership.
As the Chef de Cuisine – Italian, you will oversee the assigned kitchen as an independent profit center, ensuring it operates in accordance with the outlet’s Italian culinary concept and Hyatt International standards.
You will be responsible for delivering authentic, high-quality Italian dishes, maintaining culinary excellence, and ensuring maximum guest satisfaction.
This role requires strong leadership in menu development, food quality, and kitchen operations, while maintaining strict control over costs, productivity, and hygiene standards.
You will actively contribute to the financial success of the outlet by optimizing resource utilization, managing budgets effectively, and driving revenue through innovative and appealing Italian cuisine offerings.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef in a reputable hotel or high-standard restaurant is required, preferably within luxury or international hospitality brands, with a strong focus on authentic Italian cuisine.
- A formal qualification or certification in Kitchen Production, Culinary Arts, or Kitchen Management will be considered an advantage, particularly with specialization or training in Italian culinary techniques and regional gastronomy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Italian cooking methods, ingredients, and traditional recipes is essential, along with a strong understanding of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office and recipe management systems, is preferred to ensure effective menu planning, cost control, and standardized Italian recipe maintenance.
