Role Overview
The AV Technician supports audio-visual operations for events, presentations, recreation facilities, evening programs, and shows.
The role includes equipment preparation, live operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and performer coordination.
Audio-Visual Operations
- Clean, maintain, install, set up, and configure audio-visual equipment.
- Ensure equipment is connected and fully functional before events and presentations.
- Operate audio-visual systems during events to maintain high-quality sound and visuals.
- Manage live audio mixing, video switching, and lighting.
Maintenance and Technical Support
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with AV systems and equipment.
- Repair or arrange repair of faulty equipment.
- Provide technical support to event organizers, presenters, and equipment users.
- Assist with setup and operation during live events.
Coordination and Records
- Work with event coordinators, IT teams, and stakeholders to meet event requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to manage and monitor AV equipment inventory.
- Maintain records of equipment inventory, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
- Document setup configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Programs and Performers
- Stay aware of recreation facilities, evening programs, and shows, including their technical concepts and requirements.
- Manage bands or performers during sound checks, stage setup, and coordination of performer riders.
Requirements
- Technical knowledge of audio-visual systems and event equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with AV systems.
- Ability to provide technical support to event organizers, presenters, and equipment users.
