Assistant Facilities Manager - Cranleigh Abu Dhabi

Role Overview

Minimum Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering is mandatory.
• NEBOSH certification is preferred.
• Certification in energy management or facilities management is preferred.

Minimum Experience

• At least five years of experience in facilities, operations, or health and safety roles is required.
• Experience in education, hospitality, or large multi-site environments is desirable.
• Experience supporting school operations is advantageous.
• Experience in Abu Dhabi is desirable.

Job-Specific Skills

• Strong organizational, planning, communication, interpersonal, and follow-up skills are required.
• The role requires managing multiple tasks under pressure and working confidently with contractors and service providers.
• Commercial awareness, cost-control capability, professionalism, and integrity are required.

Facilities and General Services

• Support facilities and general services across the school and promote efficient deployment of staff and resources.
• Supervise and support security, facilities, cleaning, maintenance, and other contracted service teams.
• Ensure facilities meet standards for cleanliness, safety, presentation, and operational readiness.
• Act as the day-to-day contact for facilities matters and support school event planning and resourcing.

Maintenance and Operations

• Coordinate repairs and maintenance, including inspections, contractor engagement, and completion follow-up.
• Monitor buildings, grounds, and equipment for condition and safety.
• Conduct daily site checks and ensure issues are logged, tracked, and resolved.
• Monitor building management system alerts where applicable.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

• Promote a proactive health and safety culture across facilities and support service teams.
• Support compliance with health and safety legislation, organizational policies, and local authority requirements.
• Assist with internal and external health, safety, and environmental audits.
• Support contractor HSE monitoring and compliance.

Finance, Procurement, and Contracts

• Support management of facilities-related budgets and expenditure.
• Assist with procurement and purchasing.
