Role overview
A freight forwarding company in Dubai is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage finance for freight forwarding and warehousing operations.
The role uses the E-Freight ERP system and reports to the Finance Manager.
Main responsibilities
- Prepare daily fund position and cash flow reports.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports.
- Manage AP, AR, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Handle job closing, monthly closing, accounting treatments, and transitional entries.
- Handle WPS processing and record keeping.
- Follow up on receivables and prepare sales target and ageing reports.
- Resolve financial and operational issues in freight forwarding.
- Prepare and file VAT and Excise Tax returns under UAE FTA requirements.
- Coordinate annual, AML, and statutory audits.
- Coordinate inventory and shipment records with operations.
- Document BOE, customs transactions, stock transfers, and excise movements.
- Review job profitability and post monthly closing journal entries.
Requirements
- B.Com or M.Com qualification.
- At least three years of freight forwarding and shipping experience in the UAE.
- Practical experience in freight forwarding operations.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Communication and interpersonal skills for client coordination.
- Ability to collaborate, initiate tasks, achieve goals, and maintain confidentiality.
Technical skills
- Knowledge of E-Freight ERP.
- Knowledge of UAE FTA compliance, VAT return filing, and Excise Tax filing.
- Knowledge of Excel VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
- Knowledge of job profitability, accounting treatments, and closing entries.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 4,500–AED 6,000 per month.
Workplace
- Work location is in person.
