Job Description
The AC Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs air-conditioning systems and related equipment.
Technical Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC faults to ensure proper operation.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to help avoid system breakdowns.
- Replace or repair defective compressors, motors, thermostats, and other parts.
- Test electrical circuits and components for safety and efficiency.
- Clean and inspect filters, coils, and other components to maintain air quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests.
- Coordinate with technicians and departments to complete tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical diploma or HVAC certification is preferred.
- Relevant HVAC or refrigeration certification or license, such as EPA Section 608 certification.
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing air-conditioning systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical HVAC components.
- Familiarity with HVAC safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to handle equipment and work in various conditions.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
