Role Overview
Oversee daily operations for international transportation and customs brokerage activities.
Supervise export, import brokerage, or gateway operations in accordance with applicable federal and foreign regulations.
Pay
- The stated pay range is $65,000 to $70,000.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service, maintain performance statistics, and support staff and customer training efforts.
- Review shipment documentation, invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements for accuracy and compliance.
- Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and merchandise volume.
- Coordinate with customs officials to release freight and resolve delays.
- Establish and monitor policies, procedures, and service standards for customs clearance operations.
- Audit client processes, shipment documents, and accounting to identify areas of concern.
- Lead staff meetings, address performance problems, and supervise department projects.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including after-hours on-call rotation.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and at least four years of related experience.
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
- Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Working knowledge of ITAR, import brokerage, export compliance, hazmat regulations, and recordkeeping.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications.
- Some professional certifications may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, logistics, supply chain management, transportation, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
- Three years of industry experience is preferred.
Schedule
- The role includes a flexible work schedule and an after-hours on-call rotation.
