Role overview

The 1st Shift Operations Supervisor oversees daily international transportation and customs brokerage operations.

The role supervises export, import, customs clearance, documentation, customer service, and compliance activities.

Compensation

  • The pay range is $65,000 to $70,000 per year.

Schedule

  • The regular schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • The role requires flexibility outside normal business hours and participation in an after-hours on-call rotation.

Location

  • The listed work location is 80 Micro Drive, Jonestown, Pennsylvania 17038.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee international transportation and customs brokerage operations and supervise departmental activities.
  • Review shipment documentation, invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weights, and merchandise volumes for international shipments.
  • Communicate with customs officials to release freight and resolve delays.
  • Establish and monitor customs clearance policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Audit client import and export processes, shipment documents, and accounting to identify concerns.
  • Lead staff meetings, support training, address performance problems, and participate in projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, four years of related experience, and one year of supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, import brokerage, export compliance, hazmat regulations, and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to interpret business, technical, and government regulations and write reports and procedures.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office and software proficiency, strong communication, planning, problem analysis, and team leadership abilities.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • A related bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience is preferred.
