Role Overview

The Wellness Instructor leads group fitness classes, provides personalized training, and maintains a safe, engaging, and effective exercise environment.

The role supports individual and group health and wellness goals through fitness, nutrition, and mental well-being practices.

Wellness Programs and Instruction

  • Develop and conduct wellness programs, fitness classes, workshops, and one-on-one coaching sessions.
  • Lead cardiovascular exercise, strength training, stretching, yoga, functional training, Zumba, and related activities.
  • Provide guidance on nutrition, lifestyle changes, and stress management.

Service Administration

  • Establish schedules and methods for wellness services and identify resource needs.
  • Participate in developing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to standards, policies, and procedures and implement approved changes.
  • Monitor activities for compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Identify guest needs and recommend appropriate wellness programs.
  • Prepare periodic reports and maintain files and records.

Facilities and Supplies

  • Ensure fitness areas and equipment are clean, safe, and properly maintained.
  • Keep up to date with fitness and wellness trends.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions, order supplies and materials, and monitor expenditures.
  • Respond to guest complaints and requests for information.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current certification in group fitness instruction, group classes, or personal training from a recognized organization such as ACE, NASM, ACSM, or AFAA.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.

Additional Qualifications

  • A degree in sports science, physical education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Flexible availability for rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Physical ability to perform rescues, extended standing, and outdoor duties in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to participate in training, emergency drills, and continuous skills development.
  • Commitment to teamwork, discipline, professionalism, hygiene, safety, and guest satisfaction.
