Job Description
The Laundry Attendant processes hotel linen, uniforms, guest laundry, and other fabric items efficiently and to high quality standards.
The role requires attention to detail, laundry operations knowledge, and commitment to standards expected in a five-star luxury hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, count, and classify linen, uniforms, guest laundry, and other fabric items.
- Operate washing, drying, ironing, pressing, and related laundry equipment safely.
- Inspect items and apply appropriate fabric-care, stain-removal, washing, drying, pressing, and finishing techniques.
- Fold, package, and distribute clean linen and uniforms to relevant departments.
- Process guest laundry and dry-cleaning items within the required turnaround time.
- Separate clean and soiled linen to maintain hygiene and prevent cross-contamination.
- Report damaged, stained, or missing items to the Laundry Supervisor.
- Maintain clean and organized laundry and storage areas and follow hotel safety, hygiene, chemical-handling, and environmental procedures.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous hotel or commercial laundry experience is preferred, and four- or five-star hotel experience is advantageous.
- Basic laundry operations and fabric-care knowledge is required.
- The candidate must safely operate laundry equipment and have the physical ability to stand for long periods and move laundry bags or linen.
- Attention to detail, hygiene awareness, teamwork, reliability, and a hardworking approach are required.
- Basic English communication is required; additional languages are advantageous.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays is required.
