Develop well engineering strategies, objectives, design criteria, operating envelopes, standards, architectures, trajectories, casing and cementing programs, completion concepts, and drilling programs.
Coordinate engineering inputs across reservoir, geology, geophysics, production, facilities, drilling, and field teams.
Evaluate well data, subsurface uncertainties, pressure, fracture gradients, wellbore stability, drilling hazards, and complex well design requirements.

Candidate Profile
Strong experience in well engineering, drilling engineering, completions engineering, well integrity, petroleum engineering, or well construction is required.
Experience is preferably within oil and gas, offshore, onshore, unconventional, or complex well environments.
Strong knowledge of well engineering principles, well construction, casing, cementing, tubulars, barriers, and well integrity is required.
Experience with trajectories, hydraulics, torque and drag, wellbore stability, drilling fluids, directional drilling, pressure management, and drilling hazards is required.
Experience supporting complex, high-angle, horizontal, extended-reach, HPHT, or challenging wells is required.
Knowledge of completion design, stimulation, artificial lift interfaces, well intervention, well control, and operational risk management is required.
Experience managing engineering contractors, service companies, and technical vendors is required.
Strong project-management, planning, cost-control, scheduling, analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis capabilities are required.
Familiarity with well engineering, drilling, simulation, and planning software is required.
Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards is required.
Strong communication, stakeholder-management, technical leadership, mentoring, and decision-making skills are required.
Ability to work with multidisciplinary and international teams and interest in digital well engineering and emerging technologies are required.
Key Performance Indicators
Performance measures include well delivery, cost and schedule adherence, drilling and completion days, non-productive time, drilling efficiency, construction cost, and engineering cycle time.
Additional measures include design approval, well integrity and barrier assurance, casing and cementing success, well control events, equipment failures, completion reliability, and production or injection performance.
Other measures include technical deviation frequency, management-of-change compliance, contractor performance, risk closure, lessons-learned implementation, technology adoption, cost savings, regulatory compliance, safety, and team competency development.
