Recreation Programs Manager

Evaluation and improvement

• Monitor participation, enrollment, attendance, utilization, retention, satisfaction, complaints, service requests, and program performance.
• Evaluate programs through surveys, feedback, attendance data, cost analysis, and performance reviews.
• Modify, discontinue, or expand programs based on evidence, community demand, and service outcomes.
• Introduce appropriate digital registration, scheduling, communication, analytics, and engagement tools.
• Promote inclusive participation and develop targeted programs for underserved or underrepresented groups.
• Prepare management reports and support long-term recreation, facility, capital, and community-service planning.

Ideal candidate

• Strong experience in recreation management, community programs, sports and leisure services, parks and recreation, wellness, events, community services, or related public-service environments.
• Experience developing and managing diverse recreation programs and activities.
• Strong program planning, scheduling, budgeting, and operational-management skills.
• Experience supervising instructors, coaches, program staff, volunteers, or contractors.
• Strong understanding of participant safety, safeguarding, accessibility, and risk management.
• Experience managing community partnerships and external service providers.
• Experience using program-management, registration, scheduling, CRM, or facility-management systems.
• Ability to analyze participation data, customer feedback, program costs, and performance trends.
• Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
